In respect of WEEE compliance and reuse, CfC can only accept items in working condition and not older than five years.
- July2007 implementation of EU (WEEE) directives regarding disposal of all Electrical Waste. Affects all electrical apparatus.
- 2005 Conventional computer monitors classified as Hazardous Waste.
- 95% of donated equipment is provided by Companies, Police authorities, Health Authorities, Government departments and Educational establishments, etc

Equipment requirements:
- PC's minimum: Pentium IV / Equivalent, Servers, Desktops, Towers, Laptops
- Mac minimum: Mac G4 / Imac, Powerbooks
- PDA’s
- Monitors: TFT all sizes.
- Miscellaneous: Network switches, hubs, Power cables, Mice, etc
- Mobile phones: Dead or Alive, chargers, etc
- Digital telephony equipment
We are unable to accept:
- Printers, Scanners, Fax Machines, Games consoles, Word processors or Photocopiers
Collection services:
- Available for Companies, Schools, Hospitals, etc
- Home collections are not possible at this time
Donor Safeguards:
Computers for Charities, undertakes the following processes to protect donors from potential data fraud and liability.
- Approved data removal of hard drives
- Assumes Legal liability of donated equipment
- Audit trail of donated equipment for donor reports
- Certificates of disposal and data removal available on request
